A few days after returning from our European sojourn, we attended that annual Exeter College Ball. The grand party featured medieval troubadours, jousting, archery, assorted carnival games, balloon makers, fresh-made doughnuts, and plenty of dancing. We all had a great time taking part in one more University tradition, and it was hard to believe that the elaborate event was one of the more modest of Oxford's college spring balls.
