After leaving the churches, we headed for the next landmark, the Eiffel Tower. After standing in line for a bit, we rode an elevator up one of the legs and stopped on the first, second, and third levels to get higher and higher views of the city. After obligatory stops at one of the many giftshops and watching a short video on the first level, we went back down and wandered through the adjacent park. At 9:00 sharp, as we were walking away, the Tower exploded in sparkling lights, the icing on the cake of our first day in the City of Lights.
