Rouen
April 15, 2004

On Thursday we left Caen for Rouen, a very pleasant town which boasts a cathedral that obsessed Monet. He painted is facade several dozen times at different points in the day and in different kinds of light (even the Indianapolis Museum of Art has one of them). In a nearby park stands a cross marking the spot where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake by the English.
