The Dead Sea
December 30, 2008

Our next stop on the road south was at the Dead Sea near the Ein Gedi oasis. Despite hearing about the special properties of lowest place on Earth, none of us was prepared for the incredibly saltiness of the water or our own buoyancy in the Sea. Fortunately we were able to wash off with a coating of mud and sulfury water that reminded me of Reykjavik.
